Kai, or @regularvisions across her social media, is a 20 year old creative media student who likes science fiction and drawing, and that’s how this story came to be!
The PARALLAX story is inspired by all the time she spends thinking and reading about new technology, her resentment towards the mornings where she wakes up anxious from bad dreams the night before, mixed in with her love for telling stories, world-in-world settings, and illustrations in bright colours.
lthough this is the first time the artist is venturing into seriously developing a story, some of the concepts and character designs date back to doodles from as early as 2014. That being said, the lengthy timeframe behind the ideation of this story bears a list of influences from other stories that are just as long.
There isn’t much content to speak for just yet, but the art style never really stays in one place, and often changes drastically based on however Kai feels like drawing at the time. The future of the comic has plans lined up for changes in format and dialogue styles, both to match the dynamics of different parts of the story, and so the artist has an excuse to play around and try different things (she dubs the comic as an experimental project for a reason!
When she’s not working on this comic, Kai spends her time juggling between schoolwork, making mediocre art, watching anime, and rambling on twitter.
